How to: Submit a Community “taste test”

1. First and foremost, you’ve got to sign up for an Unclip account (obvi!). You can do this in one of two ways.

Way one: by creating an original Unclip username and password. Some examples are PradaCadabra, CharlieSHOPlin, I<3DKNY, Shoeby Doo (get it? like Scooby Doo, but with “shoes”), and my favorite ThisIsWhyImHaute. Do not steal my names-- they are copyrighted. Just kidding! But really, don’t steal them.

Way two: by using the Facebook connect option, all your information will automatically transfer from your Facebook account to your Unclip account. This is a great option since it’s fast and super easy.

And let’s face it, who, besides me, has the time to think of such clever usernames anyway.

2. Next, you have to buy your dad a birthday present, and you totally forgot about it until now, and it’s got to be good cause it’s the big 5-0-, and you are on a budget, and your brother Bill won’t chip in, and you don’t have time to shop cause you’re on a deadline at work.

ENTER TASTE TEST (superhero music commences)

Ask the experts-- a.k.a. your Unclip friends! They will answer your “taste test” question and help you find awesome items for great deals. Why should they help you, you ask? Well, because we’re bribing them!

Just enter your question in the Fill-in field on the left, choose a category from the drop-down so that users know where to search (i.e. Sporting Goods or Gardening), and upload a picture or video that might be helpful to your little minion of personal shoppers (i.e. a picture of your dad in the backyard or dancing at last year’s Christmas Party????).

3. Now, just sit back and let the responses pile in.

4. In two days, you’ll receive an email in your Unclip inbox asking you to chose a winner from your “My daddy’s birfday” taste test. You decide that you like ShoPAULholic’s suggestion to get your dad tickets to a hockey game from StubHub.com and buy the tickets from the link Paul has sent you.

5. Your dilemma is solved, your dad is happy, and you my friend, get to spend 3+ hours with your dad and a bunch of other dudes wearing mustard stained sweatshirts.

How to: respond to a "taste test”

1. Why should you respond to a taste test again? Oh, because you’re a good person and want to help relieve people from their purchasing stresses… and because you’re going to win POINTS and PRIZES (note the Caps..ooooo).

First, click on the Taste Test link on the top of the homepage.

2. Next, find a Taste Test that your friends have posted and submit a response. Remember the more Taste Tests you respond to, the more POINTS and potential PRIZES you might win.

3.Choose a suitable store and highlight it in the Store List.

4. Then, click on the given link to transport to the stores site.

5. Browse the awesome store items and copy paste the link URL into the fill-in field provided.

6. Post a picture of your item so that the user can more easily identify what you are recommending.

7. Recommend a coupon for that store so that your frugal friend can get a recession break.

8. Convince them like mad your suggestion is the awesomest of the awesomest. And SUBMIT.

9. Wait for a response… If you are chosen, you will win points that you can redeem in the Corporate Taste Tests!

How to: respond to a "Corporate taste test"

What is a Corporate Taste Test?

Same as above... except this time, you actually get something (other than points) when you win.

1. To enter the corporate taste tests, you have to buy into them with your Unclip points (200 pts each). The points will automatically be subtracted from your cache.

2. Respond to the taste test challenge. Don't forget to post pictures to up the ante!

3. If you are chosen as the winner, you'll be given a gift certificate code that you can redeem at the stores online site.
